Meet Our Team

School Director

Salvatore Ferrara is a highly accomplished professional with over 40+ years of experience in the electrical industry. A graduate of Floral Park Memorial High School, he developed a passion for working with his hands early on. Introduced to the trades by a family member, he began his career as an Electrical Apprentice and, through hard work and dedication, earned his place in Local 3.In 2003, Salvatore purchased the Electrical and HVAC/R Training Center in Copiague, NY, where he continues to serve as the owner and Director. Under his leadership, the center has become a premier institution for individuals starting or advancing their careers in the Electrical, HVAC/R, and Photovoltaic industries. His deep passion for the industry drives him to continuously enhance the school’s programs, ensuring students receive top-tier education and training.His career includes instructing the Local Union #3 Apprenticeship Program (1998-2001) and serving as a licensed educator for CEU renewal courses for Master Electricians in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Florida. Additionally, he provides CEUs for NABCEP, NYS Building Officials, and home inspectors in New York State.Salvatore is a respected leader in the field, serving on Code Panel #2 for the NYC Electrical Code and frequently testifying as an expert witness in electrical cases for Con Edison and various law firms. He is actively involved in numerous professional organizations, including IAEI, IBEW, NFPA, USGBC-LI, PSEG Trade Ally, NEL, SCECA, NYFAA, MACC, Long Island Vision and HIA. He also contributes to education by serving on advisory boards for Eastern BOCES and Nassau Barry Tech's electrical programs.Beyond his professional achievements, Salvatore is committed to giving back to the community. Presently, he holds leadership positions on multiple boards, including the NYC Chapter of Electrical Inspectors, the Suffolk County Workforce Investment Board, and recently Long Island Vision. He held board membership with Habitat for Humanity and the Metropolitan Air Conditioning Contractors of NY. Additionally, he is a member of the Copiague Chamber of Commerce and serves as the Chairman of Education for the NYC Chapter of the Independent Alliance of the Electrical Industry (IAEI)On a personal level, Salvatore has been happily married to his wonderful wife, Lisa, since 1987. Together, they have a son, a daughter, and four cherished grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, biking, working out, and walking his dog, as well as spending quality time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends.

Stan

Stan has over 42 years with Local 3 I.B.E.W. in the commercial end of the electrical industry. He is a highly seasoned and dedicated NYC Master Electrician. He has held multiple roles such as, Superintendent, General Forman, Forman, and Sub Foreman.Stan is very detailed oriented and is committed to safety, quality and customer satisfaction. He is an Instructor for Local 3 Supervision training and is a member of the Superintendents committee. He is currently an instructor for the Electrical Training Center. He is also a NYC code committee member that served on Chapters 1 And 3 for the adaptation of the NYC 2014 NEC code.

Over forty (40) years’ experience in the electrical industry. Positions included: field electrician to supervision, successful estimator, project manager on multimillion dollar projects. I have been a Vice President Licensee for seven (7) different electrical contractors. I have nine (9) electrical licenses covering fifteen (15) states, New York City and Long Island. I am a member and contributor of Code Making Panel #3 for the new upcoming edition of the New York City Electrical Code. I have been teaching electrical theory and electrical code for over thirty years in New York and New Jersey and have three (3) different teaching licenses.
